It&#39;s still a decent setup today, the image quality benefit of <a href=\"https://digitalcourage.social/tags/AV1\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>AV1</span></a> is not too huge at 8mbps.</p><p>When streaming with <a href=\"https://digitalcourage.social/tags/OBS\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>OBS</span></a> on a powerful <a href=\"https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Linux\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Linux</span></a> computer, there is one dirty trick that gives you better streaming video:</p><p>Just throw 25mbps AO-AV1 at YouTube – if your Internet connection allows you to.</p><p>Feed YouTube with the best image you can offer, so its transcoding does the least damage.</p><p>(I also tried 50mbps h264 from my old Radeon GPU, at below 3% CPU load… As said, with any encoder you get good image at high bitrates… YouTube hates me now.)</p><p>(When uploading video: Use GoPro Cineform at high bitrate. )</p><p>But will I buy a new PC-based <a href=\"https://digitalcourage.social/tags/livestream\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>livestream</span></a> setup for the one monthly steady gig?
