Is it environmental? External pathogenic? Or was it baked into the system the entire time.</p><p>Most epigenetic signals still deal with DNA, methylation of nucleotides etc for bonus level of control. Still dealing with genetic sequence. This seems outside of that canon.</p><p>Assuming you could read the DNA, all methylation sequences, histone etc control, even with all that, you would still not see this control mechanism.</p>",
