"content": "<p>1985: me and my friend from highschool experimenting with 2 transistor home built FM <a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/transmitters\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>transmitters</span></a>, later <a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/Stentor\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Stentor</span></a> kit from the <a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/Netherlands\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Netherlands</span></a>, transmitting between 105,6/105,7/105,8 MHz (depending on how much TX had drifted) and putting 1km \"not spot\" into comms for British Rail and Reading Buses on their then new Stornophone <a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/VHF\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>VHF</span></a> radio schemes (which bizarrely had mobile TX on 150+MHz and base on 105-106 MHz (this portion of the band wasn't officially allocated to broadcasting back then!)</p><p>2025: working with my friends at <a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/IpswichCommunityRadio\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>IpswichCommunityRadio</span></a> doing it all legally on 105.7 - 50W TX power, stereo, digital soundprocessing, dynamic RDS, about 30-40km range, full telemetry on the transmitter and bandpass filter so we don't upset anyone else on the band.</p><p>Listening to Em's 80s Hour of Fun last night (she featured 1985 on the episode) reminded me of this (and that 40 years have passed since I started being involved with <a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/radio\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>radio</span></a>!)</p><p>(en eindelijk na 40 jaar kan ik ook de andere kant van de bouwfolder (die was in het Nederlands geschreven) voor de Stentor lezen!)</p><p><a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/FM\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>FM</span></a> <a href=\"https://cyberpunk.lol/tags/BroadcastEngineering\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>BroadcastEngineering</span></a></p>",
