The foot and the name indicate something a lot more, I dunno, GNOME 2-y? than where GNOME is at now. GNOME is a really slick desktop that (mostly) knows what to add in and what to strip out in order to make one of the most thoughtful, minimalist desktop environments for modern PCs. I know <a href=\"https://cassidyjames.com/blog/gnome-foot-logo-rebrand/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Cassidy James made a blog post about getting rid of the foot</a>, and I largely agreed with it, but I also kinda think the GNOME name is also a bit dated. Idk.
