I'm running a nextcloud on my internal net (no direct internet access) and am wondering is it still the right solution to migrate onto a new hardware?
\n
I'm asking, because I'm not feeling very comfortable with it, because I'm not really understanding it. I'm more a unix like person - keep it simple.
\n
I'm using so far these nextcloud-like services:
\n
\n
contacts and calendar integrated into linux and android clients
\n
lufi for filesharing
\n
occasionally file syncing, but I'm also using #syncthing (the nextcloud client on android sometimes does not work like I'd expect)
\n
am trying atm #memories which seems to have all features I'd like to have to migrate our families pictures from a synology nas
\n
\n
So for me it seems that it is #calendar, #contacts and maybe #memories.
\n
If I'd break #nextcloud I'd break all of these applications. So I'm thinking if I could just use a bunch of applications like #lufi and #syncthing to migrate to instead of using the nextcloud framework.
\n
I'd be happy about comments on this line of thought, motivations and arguments to keep using nextcloud and insight, practical experiences and reasons to migrate to other projects and drop nextcloud.
\n
Should I
\n", "to": [ "https://www.w3.org/ns/activitystreams#Public" ], "cc": [ "https://chrichri.ween.de/followers" ], "published": "2025-03-22T09:46:19Z", "context": "https://chrichri.ween.de/contexts/b0437a97ac294842822450913b9a73a3", "conversation": "https://chrichri.ween.de/contexts/b0437a97ac294842822450913b9a73a3", "url": "https://chrichri.ween.de/o/0721bfe77fb54e20a8ebe67bfc80db47", "tag": [ { "href": "https://chrichri.ween.de/t/nextcloud", "name": "#nextcloud", "type": "Hashtag" }, { "href": "https://chrichri.ween.de/t/syncthing", "name": "#syncthing", "type": "Hashtag" }, { "href": "https://chrichri.ween.de/t/memories", "name": "#memories", "type": "Hashtag" }, { "href": "https://chrichri.ween.de/t/calendar", "name": "#calendar", "type": "Hashtag" }, { "href": "https://chrichri.ween.de/t/contacts", "name": "#contacts", "type": "Hashtag" }, { "href": "https://chrichri.ween.de/t/lufi", "name": "#lufi", "type": "Hashtag" } ], "summary": null, "inReplyTo": null, "sensitive": false, "attachment": [] }
