"content": "House fire Update:<br><br>With lots of help from the neighbourhood, just about everything has been cleaned. Getting professionals to do it would have potentially cost up to $30k, so that was a massive help.<br>We have had to hire a builder to fix the deck and do a few other things though, as well as get an electrician to do a few things which has costs us some money in labour and materials. The floors may or may not need to be replaced (probably not, the only real damage is the burnt spot next to the cat tower) and those glass doors will have to get replaced. The doors are unfortunately, very expensive; $10k plus.<br>So on the topic of money; my mum got a loan to pay for everything and the bank would only give her $70k minimum. We almost certainly wont use all that, but what we do use will have to be payed off, and that's on top of the mortgage that was already there.
