"content": "<p>This <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/introduction\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>introduction</span></a> was on my old account, but I wanted to pin it here.</p><p>I'm a late 40-something Australian living in Naarm on the border of unceded Woiworung & Boonwurrung lands.</p><p>I've been married for 26+ years, with 4 living kids (aged from 25->10).</p><p>I'm late-diagnosed <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/autistic\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>autistic</span></a> (2013), <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/ADHD\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>ADHD</span></a> (2019); in a shock twist, all of our kids are <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/neurodivergent\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>neurodivergent</span></a> too. I live with both <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/Anxiety\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Anxiety</span></a> & <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/Depression\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Depression</span></a>.</p><p>I grew up in a what became a tiny family-based semi-fundamentalist <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/Pentecostal\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Pentecostal</span></a> cult (fundecostal for short), which I didn't leave until I was 26. I still regard myself as a <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/Christian\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Christian</span></a>, but it's complicated.</p><p>Growing up like this meant that I lacked the words & concepts to describe both my <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/sexuality\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>sexuality</span></a> & <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/gender\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>gender</span></a>; it wasn't until 2016 that a Christian counsellor explained that what I was describing was <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/GenderDysphoria\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>GenderDysphoria</span></a>.</p><p>I've spend the last few years dealing with the consequences of coming to understand myself as, by definition, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/transgender\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>transgender</span></a>.</p><p>I'm prone to oversharing, both personally, & about my special interests.</p><p>My job title is "Senior Infrastructure Technician"; in real terms, I live at the intersection of technical & non-technical folks, & my super-power appears to be translating each group to the other.</p><p>My special interests include, but not limited to, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/trans\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>trans</span></a> issues, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/music\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>music</span></a> (listening & performing), <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/movies\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>movies</span></a> & <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/TV\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>TV</span></a> (watching & production), <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/ScreenWriting\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>ScreenWriting</span></a>, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/writing\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>writing</span></a>, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/gaming\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>gaming</span></a>, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/computers\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>computers</span></a>, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/StarTrek\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>StarTrek</span></a>, <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/theology\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>theology</span></a>, and <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/MentalHealth\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>MentalHealth</span></a>.</p><p>Hi again!</p>",
