The plan has always been to <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/transition\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>transition</span></a> away from gas and go full electric for a few reasons, however it hasn't been until 2025 that the equivalent electricity for gas usage has actually been cheaper than using gas.</p><p>Then suddenly it is announced that electricity <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/prices\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>prices</span></a> will rise by up to 10% from July 2025. This will make it cheaper to continue using gas than it will to move over to electricity (excluding the health benefits of removing gas).</p><p>Forgive the conspiracy theorist perspective but that seems way to big of a coincidence to have not been purposeful.
