"content": "<p>Things that make me go, “huh!”</p><p>My grandmother in north QLD dies, I’m left her huge house, dozens of bee hives & a small patch of old mango trees.</p><p>My father & I decide to move from Brisbane & live in the house.</p><p>We get there & one of my uncle’s tells me he has installed my cousin & his large family in the house & hands me $1,000 “for the house”.</p><p>Huh!</p><p>Before leaving Brisbane, I’d been down to the Project Jonah annual whale Watch at Byron Bay.</p><p>One afternoon, watching through my binoculars I spotted a white whale breaching.</p><p>I call out to the rest of the group. They turn towards where I was pointing, but the whale doesn’t breach again.</p><p>“John’s gone crazy!” “Yes Captain Ahab!” they start laughing.</p><p>At the next years whale watch, when I’m now living in north QLD, the group tells the press they’ve spotted a white humpback whale while watching from Cape Byron.</p><p>The whale is subsequently named <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/migaloo\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>migaloo</span></a> </p><p>Huh!</p>",
