It has been so for a number of years. The Covid ‘emergency’ was an inflection point where the Australian economy took a hit from which it is still vacillating. </p><p>The electorate is now fully awake to the need for action on <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/climate\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>climate</span></a> , action on affordable <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/housing\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>housing</span></a> and is divided along <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/conservative\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>conservative</span></a> and <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/progressive\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>progressive</span></a> political lines. What <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/AusElections2025\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>AusElections2025</span></a> will deliver for a govt is anyone’s guess at this stage and I submit that political <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/polling\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>polling</span></a> will largely be uninformative.
