The present [&amp; many prior] aus.social Masto versions support *creating* Markdowned text, but not *displaying* it natively, in the web client [ie, viz browsers]. Presumably your app is nice enough to add some additional capability. </p><p>Anyway, this short-lived test is now unexpectedly, disappointingly, abandoned following my shock [re]discovery of one undesirable aspect of aus.social&#39;s setup that drove me away yonks ago. Not only the 3K char limit, not only the lack of using the <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/GlitchSoc\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>GlitchSoc</span></a> fork, but also the silliness that when using the <a href=\"https://aus.social/tags/AdvancedWebInterface\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>AdvancedWebInterface</span></a> view here, NO Notifications icon activity occurs ***at all***. I mean, that&#39;s so sucky. It works ok in the default view, but i don&#39;t wanna hafta be limited to that reduced functionality.
