Combining these 2.1 million images into a year-long keogram reveals this picture, which shows the length of the night change throughout the year (the hourglass shape), when the Moon was visible at night (diagonal bands), and the Sun higher in the sky during summer, as well as lots and lots of clouds passing overhead.</p>",

"name": "This is a keogram, showing the brightness and color of the sky as seen from the Netherlands for each day during 2022. The hourglass shape is the length of the night changing over the year, and the diagonal bands are the Moon moving across the night sky approximately each month. The Sun's brightness can be seen around 13h local time (brighter in summer). Finally, lots and lots of clouds can be seen modulating the sky brightness during each day.",
